It has been an eventful week. As of last Sunday all the bridges were up and trails open. The bridges survived the first storm, but were all washed out on Friday. We will wait a few days for the runoff to subside and then put the bridges back in place.
However, other progress was made. We mowed and cleared the loop in Amado so the entire trail is completely open. We also installed the gate to Ron Morriss Park. It was being used the minute we completed it. We also have a bridge in place behind the mesquite sawmill ready for the river cleanup volunteers.
We had an encouraging meeting with the Tumacacori National Historical Park about moving the trail to the west side of the river. I meet Thursday with them to set the location of the new trail along their north property line. – Jerry Behn, Trail Boss
